Christmas Light Installation in Roanoke & Northlake, TX
Roanoke has a restored historic downtown and a restaurant row the Texas House saw fit to honor. Northlake has new master-planned communities that put the front porch first. Different towns, same answer: full-service C9 LED, designed from the porch up.
Full-service C9 LED — design, install, maintenance, takedown, and storage in one price.
One page, two different jobs. Roanoke is the old-main-street town — a restored historic downtown on Oak Street and more than 60 places to eat (roanoketexas.gov). Northlake is the new-porch town — master-planned communities such as Pecan Square and Harvest, where the developer's own pitch leads with the front porch. We light both with full-service commercial-grade C9 LED custom-cut to the house: design, installation, in-season maintenance, January takedown, and off-season storage in one seasonal price, from a crew that has lit 500+ DFW homes over the past decade. Published DFW market rates: $5–$12 per linear foot, most homes $700–$2,500+. Quotes are free.
On a Porch House, the Roofline Is the Backup Singer
The porch line
A deep front porch puts a second eave at eye level, closer to the street than the main roof. C9 LED custom-cut to that line — and to the gables above it — reads as one drawing instead of two that happen to share a house.
Columns and railings
Pre-lit garland wound down the columns and draped along the railings, matched to the color temperature of the roofline. The architecture already built the frame; the job is to fill it without crowding it.
The front door
A lit wreath over the entry, bows that match the display. When the door sits back under a porch roof it is the spot every visitor walks toward, so it gets lit on purpose rather than left in shadow.
Why this matters out here: Pecan Square's own description of itself leads with a town square and “homes with front porches” (pecansquarebyhillwood.com, checked October 2026). When the street was designed around the porch, lighting only the ridge skips the best part. See wreaths, garland & decor — or text a photo for a free design mockup and see the porch drawn in before anything is hung.
An 1886 Saloon and a Lot of New Front Doors
Roanoke: the Oak Street side
The city's visitor center and museum occupies an 1886 building that was once the Silver Spur Saloon, reopened in 2008 after restoration, and the city calls Oak Street “beautifully restored” (roanoketexas.gov). It also says the Texas House of Representatives officially named Roanoke “The Unique Dining Capital of Texas,” and counts more than 60 eateries. A House resolution honoring the city as a dining destination, H.R. 1498, adopted April 30, 2009, notes that Oak Street's vintage buildings earned the district a spot on the National Register of Historic Places (capitol.texas.gov).
December has its own date: Hometown Holiday — tree lighting, a holiday parade, visits with Santa — is set for Saturday, December 5, 2026 in downtown Roanoke (roanoketexas.gov, checked October 2026). A town with that much character already on the street suits clean lines and a considered color choice more than sheer volume.
Northlake: the new-porch side
Hillwood's Pecan Square, on FM 407, is organized around a town square and Jackson Hall — an amenity the developer says was designed in tribute to the old horse barn that once stood in its place — with a lifestyle program of more than 300 events a year (pecansquarebyhillwood.com). Harvest, which lists itself as Argyle/Northlake, has an open-air pavilion actually named The Front Porch and a coffee shop in a hundred-year-old farmhouse (harvestbyhillwood.com).
Where porches sit close to the sidewalk, the display gets read at walking pace. Straight lines, one consistent color temperature, and a tidy January takedown count for more than bulb count ever will.
Check the Rulebook Before the Ladder
Read your community's documents
Pecan Square describes itself as a common interest community (pecansquarebyhillwood.com), and any rules on holiday decorations live in a community's own governing documents. We don't interpret yours — but our DFW HOA rules guide shows what to look for.
See it before it's hung
Text a photo of the house to (469) 333-1120 and the quote comes back with a labeled design rendering — roofline, porch, door. It costs nothing, and it is a handy thing to have if your association asks what you are planning.
Up with clips, down in January
Clips only — nothing screwed or stapled to fascia or stone. In-season repair visits, January takedown, and off-season storage are all in the one seasonal price, so the display leaves as neatly as it arrived.
Boards and property managers: entry monuments, amenity centers, and common-area trees are commercial work, and published DFW market data for commercial C9 LED runs $7–$15 per foot. Start at commercial & HOA lighting.
What Roanoke & Northlake homes pay: published DFW market data runs $5–$12 per linear foot full-service, most homes $700–$2,500+. Those are market ranges, not a quote — footage drives everything, and a lit porch eave adds linear feet that a flat-front house doesn't have. Sourced breakdown on the DFW cost page.

Roanoke & Northlake Questions, Answered
How much does Christmas light installation cost in Roanoke and Northlake?
Published DFW market data runs $5–$12 per linear foot for full-service C9 LED, and most DFW homes land between $700 and $2,500+. Roofline length drives the number, and a deep front porch adds footage of its own if you want its eave lit along with the main roof. Quotes are free and usually need no site visit.
Our house has a big front porch. Do you light the porch or just the roof?
Both — and on a porch-forward house the porch often carries more of the design than the roof does. C9 LED traces the porch eave, pre-lit garland winds down the columns and along the railings, and a lit wreath anchors the front door. Lights are mounted with clips only; nothing is screwed or stapled to fascia or stone.
Does my HOA have to approve Christmas lights in a Northlake master-planned community?
That depends on your community's own governing documents, and they vary from one association to the next. Read yours or ask your management company before you book — we install lights, we don't interpret deed restrictions. Our DFW HOA rules guide explains what to look for, and January takedown is already built into the full-service price.
How far are Roanoke and Northlake from your Lewisville base?
Both sit west of Lewisville — plan on roughly half an hour depending on traffic, with FM 407 the usual road out toward Northlake. That is comfortably inside our DFW service area, not a stretch. Installation, in-season repair visits and January takedown are all part of the same seasonal price wherever in DFW the house is.
When should Roanoke and Northlake homes book?
As early as you can. DFW installers' calendars genuinely fill by late October, and November callers often land on waitlists. Installs run from late October through early December, so anyone who wants lights up before Roanoke's Hometown Holiday on Saturday, December 5, 2026 should ask sooner rather than later.
