one border, two kinds of roofline

Christmas Light Installation in Addison & Farmers Branch, TX

Farmers Branch is mostly houses, on streets old enough to have real trees. Addison is mostly everything else — townhomes, condos, restaurants, offices. They share a city limit and almost nothing about how a building should be lit, so this page covers both jobs honestly.

Full-service C9 LED — design, install, maintenance, takedown, and storage in one price.

The Short Version

North Texas Christmas Light Installation serves both Addison and Farmers Branch from Lewisville, roughly fifteen to twenty minutes up I-35E. For single-family homes — most of Farmers Branch — that means a commercial-grade C9 LED roofline custom-cut to the house, plus mature-tree lighting. For Addison's townhomes, restaurants, and offices it means shorter runs, entry and balcony treatments, wreaths and garland, or a walkthrough-scoped commercial display. Everything is a full-service lease: design, installation, in-season repairs, January takedown, and storage in one seasonal price. Published DFW market rates: $5–$12 per linear foot residential, $7–$15 commercial; most homes $700–$2,500+. Quotes are free.

Pick the Frontage That Sounds Like Yours

Three different buildings, three different jobs. The lights are the same commercial-grade C9 LED in every case; what changes is how much line there is to follow and who gets a say in it.

01

A detached house with real trees

The classic job: a roofline custom-cut to your eaves and peaks, then the mature trees out front. Older trees are the part a newer suburb can't copy — see tree & landscape lighting.

02

A townhome or a shared wall

Less footage, more precision. One clean eave or parapet line, the entry, a balcony rail, and a lit wreath or garland doing the work extra footage would do on a wider house. A free mockup shows it before anything is hung.

03

A restaurant, storefront, or office

A different process, not just a bigger house. Commercial & HOA lighting starts with an on-site walkthrough; published DFW market data runs $7–$15 per linear foot for that work.

Why One Page Has Two Readers

A City of Postwar Streets Beside a Town of Apartments

Farmers Branch: built in about twenty years

The Handbook of Texas puts Farmers Branch at 915 residents in 1950, 13,441 in 1960, and 27,492 in 1970 (tshaonline.org, checked October 2026). A city that grows thirtyfold in two decades is, for the most part, a city of single-family streets from one era — and of trees that have had half a century or more to get tall.

For lighting, that is the good kind of old. Long, readable eave lines suit a custom-cut C9 run, and a mature trunk-and-canopy tree carries a design in a way a staked sapling never will.

Addison: mostly not houses

The Town of Addison's own housing FAQ (July 2022) counts 11,432 dwelling units, 78.8% of them rental, and notes that about 950 of the 2,420 ownership units are townhomes or condos. The same document describes roughly 17,000 residents and a daytime population above 120,000 (agendas.addisontx.gov, checked October 2026).

Translation: in Addison, the building someone wants lit is as likely to be a patio, a storefront, or a townhome as a house with a front yard. The design has to start from that, not from a suburban template.

Shared walls, balconies, and common areas: what an owner may put on the outside of an attached home is usually a question for the association's governing documents — and every community writes its own. We won't guess at yours. Our DFW HOA Christmas light guide covers what to read and what to ask before you book. On our side, the mounting is clips only: nothing screwed or stapled to fascia or stone.

Both Towns Already Put On a December

Neither place needs our help getting into the season. What follows is what the official sources say — and, where they haven't published a 2026 date yet, we say so instead of guessing.

For 2025 the Town's listing showed a tree-lighting evening on Saturday, November 22, with tree lights on daily from 5 to 11 p.m. afterward. Addison's tourism site lists it as returning in November 2026; no exact date was posted when we checked.

The practical point for a homeowner or a business: people here are already out after dark in December, looking at lights on purpose. A tidy, well-kept display on your own frontage is part of that evening, whether it is two hundred feet of ranch-house eave or a single lit doorway on a restaurant patio.

What the footage means in dollars: published DFW market data runs $5–$12 per linear foot for full-service residential C9 LED, with most homes at $700–$2,500+, and $7–$15 per foot for commercial work. That is market data, not a quote — footage, roof height, and how many trees join the design decide where a property lands. The sourced breakdown is on the DFW cost page.

FAQ

Five Questions From Both Sides of the Line

How much does Christmas light installation cost in Addison and Farmers Branch?

Published DFW market data runs $5–$12 per linear foot for full-service C9 LED residential work, and most DFW homes land between $700 and $2,500+. Footage drives the number: a short townhome frontage measures far less than a wide ranch-house roofline. Commercial properties run $7–$15 per foot in the same published market data and are scoped with a walkthrough. Quotes are free.

I own a townhome with shared walls. Is there enough to light?

Usually, yes. A townhome frontage is short, so the design leans on the lines you do have: the front eave or parapet, the entry, a balcony rail, and often a lit wreath or garland in place of more footage. The lights are custom-cut, so the run ends where your unit does, and everything goes up with clips — nothing screwed or stapled.

Do I need HOA approval before lights go up?

That depends on your association's governing documents, and it varies from one community to the next. Read your rules or ask your management company before you book — especially where shared walls, balconies, or common-area trees are involved. Our DFW HOA guide walks through what to check and what to ask.

Do you light restaurants, storefronts, and offices in Addison?

Yes. Commercial and HOA lighting is one of our four services, and it runs on the same full-service lease: design, installation, in-season maintenance, January takedown, and storage. Commercial work is scoped with an on-site walkthrough, and published DFW market data puts it at $7–$15 per linear foot.

How far are you from Addison and Farmers Branch, and when should we book?

We are based in Lewisville, roughly fifteen to twenty minutes up I-35E when traffic cooperates. Book as early as you can: by late October calendars across DFW are genuinely tight, and November callers often land on waitlists. Installs run late October through early December, with takedown in January.
