Christmas Light Installation in Irving & Las Colinas, TX
Las Colinas is a master-planned district of gated villages, fairways and office towers. The rest of Irving is older and shadier. Same full-service C9 LED lease for both — the design brief is what changes.
Full-service C9 LED — design, install, maintenance, takedown, and storage in one price.
Irving is two lighting markets inside one city limit. Las Colinas and Valley Ranch are deed-restricted and master-planned, with golf-course lots and miles of canal walkways. Older Irving is a mix of old and new homes under mature shade trees. We serve both from Lewisville, roughly 15–25 minutes away, with one full-service lease: commercial-grade C9 LED custom-cut to your roofline, clipped on, maintained through December, taken down in January and stored. Published DFW market rates: $5–$12 per linear foot, most homes $700–$2,500+. Quotes are free.
Which Irving Do You Live In?
One city, four design briefs. The middle column is sourced; the right-hand one is our opinion.
| Where | What the Record Says | What It Means for Lights |
|---|---|---|
| Las Colinas golf villages Hackberry Creek, Cottonwood Valley, University Hills | The Association's village table lists Hackberry Creek Village & Estates at 1,244 single-family homes and Cottonwood Valley at 446, both gated with golf-course lots; University Hills at 486 homes, golf-course lots, no gate. | A second audience out back, a gate to coordinate on install day, and a village HOA whose documents you should read before anyone climbs a ladder. |
| Valley Ranch | A deed-restricted planned development north of I-635 with more than five miles of landscaped canal walkways, ponds and parks. | If your lot backs to a canal walkway, the back roofline is seen by people on foot, at walking pace. Decide deliberately whether it is part of the design. |
| Heritage District | Irving's birthplace, with what the chamber calls an eclectic mix of old and new homes. | A mix of eras means a mix of rooflines, which is the case for custom-cut. Clean, simple lines tend to suit older houses. |
| Hospital District & Northgate Heights | Described by the chamber as traditional homes on streets lined by mature shade trees, and affordable homes on tree-lined streets. | The trees are the asset. A modest roofline plus one well-wrapped trunk often reads better than a long roofline alone. |

Las Colinas Has a Committee for That
Visit Irving describes Las Colinas as a 12,000-acre master-planned business and residential area, founded in 1973 around the 125-acre Lake Carolyn. The Las Colinas Association counts more than 40 residential villages inside it. That much planning comes with paperwork.
What the Association actually publishes
Its Architectural Control Committee was established by the Declaration of Las Colinas. The Association states that all new construction and exterior improvement plans must be approved by the committee before any work is started, and its list of examples includes exterior lighting, exterior paint colors, fencing and landscaping. Its staff handles more than 1,000 submissions a year (lascolinas.org, checked October 2026).
What we will not guess at
We have not found a published Association statement on temporary seasonal displays, and each village also has its own HOA. So we won't tell you what yours allows. What we can describe is the install: clips only, nothing screwed or stapled to fascia or stone, and all of it off the house in January. Bring us your village's wording and we will design inside it.
Start with the documents, not the ladder: our guide to HOA Christmas light rules in DFW covers what associations commonly regulate and the questions worth asking before you book. Valley Ranch is deed-restricted too (irvingchamber.com), so the same homework applies north of I-635.
December Starts on Main Street
Irving's official holiday season opens in the Heritage District, not in Las Colinas. The city's Holidays at Heritage series runs weekends, December 5–19, 2026, at Heritage Park, 217 S. Main St. (irvingtx.gov, checked October 2026 — confirm details with the city before you go).
Parade & Tree Lighting
Saturday, December 5, 2026. The city's annual holiday parade opens the series and runs through the Heritage District.
Parade steps off
Activities at Heritage Park follow at 7 p.m., with live music and photos with Santa on the city's published schedule.
Tree lighting & drone show
The tree lighting and a drone light show close the night. After that, the neighborhood streets are the show.
Why the date matters to your roofline: if you'd like to be lit before the city flips its own switch, the install has to be on a calendar well ahead of December 5. Our installs run late October through early December. Book as early as you can — by late October calendars across DFW are genuinely tight, and November callers often land on waitlists. More on timing in when to book.
If Your Roofline Has a Lobby
The same lease, at building scale
Las Colinas is as much a business address as a residential one. Our commercial & HOA lighting runs on the same model as a house: we own the commercial-grade C9 LED, install it, keep it working through the season, take it down in January and store it. Nothing for a facilities team to buy or warehouse.
Priced from a walkthrough
Published DFW market data for commercial work runs $7–$15 per linear foot. A building, a hotel entrance or a village entry is not something to price from a photo, so commercial and HOA proposals are built from a walkthrough of the property.
What Irving homes pay: published DFW market data runs $5–$12 per linear foot full-service, most homes $700–$2,500+. That is market data, not a price list. Footage drives the number, which is why lighting the back of a fairway or canal lot is a budget decision as much as a design one. Sourced breakdown on the DFW cost page.

Irving & Las Colinas, Asked Plainly
How much does Christmas light installation cost in Irving and Las Colinas?
Published DFW market data runs $5–$12 per linear foot for full-service C9 LED, and most DFW homes land between $700 and $2,500+. Irving spans a wide range of homes, from older houses around the Heritage District to golf-course lots in Las Colinas, so the footage being lit decides where a home falls. Quotes are free and usually need no site visit.
Does the Las Colinas Association have to approve Christmas lights?
The Association states that all new construction and exterior improvement plans must be approved by its Architectural Control Committee before work starts, and its list of examples includes exterior lighting. We have not found a published Association statement on temporary seasonal displays, so we will not guess at one. Your village HOA documents and the Association itself are the authority. What we can tell you is how we install: clips only, nothing screwed or stapled, and everything comes down in January.
Our house backs to a golf course or a Valley Ranch canal. Should the back be lit too?
That is a design choice, not a requirement. A back roofline that faces a fairway or a canal walkway has an audience the average backyard does not, and some owners light it for that reason. Front-only is a perfectly legitimate design and the simplest way to control the total, because pricing follows linear footage. We can quote it both ways so you can compare.
How far is Irving from your base in Lewisville?
Roughly 15 to 25 minutes in ordinary traffic, down I-35E and the President George Bush Turnpike. Valley Ranch and the north side of Las Colinas are the short end of that; the Heritage District in south Irving is the long end. In-season repair visits are included in the seasonal price wherever in Irving you are.
Do you light offices, hotels and HOA entrances in Las Colinas?
Yes. Commercial and HOA lighting is one of our four service lines, run on the same full-service lease: we own the commercial-grade C9 LED, install it, maintain it through the season, take it down in January and store it. Published DFW market data for commercial work runs $7–$15 per linear foot, and proposals are built from a walkthrough of the property rather than a guess.
